How to grow potatoes in plastic bottles at home

Materials required:

  • 1 or more large plastic bottles
  • Terrestrial or earthy mixture
  • Germ potatoes
  • Birds
  • Water

Steps to follow:

1. Take a plastic bottle and cut it into two pieces, keeping the lower part wider.

2. Drill small holes at the bottom of the bottom of the bottle to ensure good drainage.

3. Fill the bottom of the bottle with a layer of soil or soil about 10 cm thick.

4. Place the sprouted potatoes on the bed of potatoes, ensuring that they are spaced enough to allow their growth.

5. Cover the potatoes with a new layer of soil or soil for about 10 cm.

6. Water the soil thoroughly to moisten well. Be careful not to drown the potatoes by flooding them.

7. Place the upper part of the bottle (the neck) on the lower part to recreate a mini-growth environment.

8. Place the bottle in a sunny place, preferably near a window to enjoy natural light.

9. Make sure to keep the soil moist by watering the crop regularly, but without excess to avoid rotting tubers.

10. Within a few weeks, potatoes will start growing and you can harvest new tubers for multiple harvest.

By following these simple steps, you can grow potatoes in plastic bottles at home in a practical and economical way. It is an ideal technique for small spaces or for those who want to experience indoor gardening.
