How to grow a lemon tree from cuttings with Aloe Vera

Growing a lemon tree from cuttings is an exciting and rewarding process for any gardening enthusiast. In this article, we will explore how to use Aloe Vera to propagate and stimulate the growth of your lemon tree.

Materials required:

  • Lemonberry buds
  • Aloe Vera
  • Repotting land
  • Flowerpot
  • Water
  • Clean and sharp knife

Steps to follow:

1. Preparation of cuttings:

Start by taking healthy, vigorous cuttings from a lemon tree. Ideally, choose cuttings 10-15 cm long and make sure they have several leaves.

2. Preparation of substrate:

Mix repotting soil with Aloe Vera. The Aloe Vera is rich in nutrients and will promote the rooting of cuttings. Fill the flowerpot with this mixture up to about 2 cm from the edge.

3. Planting of cuttings:

Make a small hole in the substrate using a pen or stick. Gently insert the cutting into the hole, ensuring that it is well depressed and stable. Water slightly to remove the substrate.

4. Maintenance:

Place the pot in a bright place but in direct sunlight. Water regularly to keep the substrate moist, but not wet. Make sure the pot has a good drainage to avoid excess water.

5. Cut protection:

The first weeks are crucial for the development of cuttings. Be sure to protect them from air currents and extreme temperatures. You can cover the pot with a transparent plastic bag to create a greenhouse effect.

6. Growth and development:

With the right care and use of the Aloe Vera, your cuttings should start to develop roots within 4 to 6 weeks. Once the roots are well established, you can transplant the young plants into individual pots.

7. Continuing care:

Continue to water and fertilize your young lemon trees regularly. Make sure you bring them enough natural light to promote healthy growth. You can also use diluted Aloe Vera as a natural fertilizer.

By following these simple steps and using Aloe Vera to spread your lemon trees, you can soon enjoy beautiful growing plants and maybe even harvest your own fresh lemons at home!
